An investigation has revealed that the 14-year old boy who died from falling from a Florida thrill ride last year was killed because the seat he was riding in was not safe.
“This report confirmed our Department’s findings that the Orlando drop tower operator made manual adjustments to make the ride unsafe,” Nikki Fried, Florida Commissioner for Agriculture and Consumer Services, said at a press conference.
The high school football star was in Orlando’s ICON park for spring break, and decided to take the FreeFall ride. Tyre Sampson was thrown off the 400ft ride.
Yarnell Sampson’s father told Fox35 that his son panicked while going up. He felt uncomfortable when the ride took off. He was like, “What’s the deal?” He started to panic and explained to his friend that he didn’t know anything. If I don’t get it down, please tell Mommy and Daddy how much I love them. To say something like that, he must feel something.”
