Tragedy: Tree Splits Home in Half, Kills 3-Month-Old Baby in Hurricane Florence

In recent days, the Carolinas have been suffering immense tragedies and damages amidst Hurricane Florence. Striking the coast at only a Category 1-level storm, Florence’s mass flooding has taken the lives of at least 17 people and caused great destruction to various properties.

Search and rescue efforts are still underway for those who chose not to evacuate the area. Our brave first responders are working tirelessly to save local families.

Sadly, at least three of the deaths reported have been infants. On Sunday, a 3-month-old child was confirmed dead after a tree fell on the family’s mobile home — splitting it in half.

According to PEOPLE, the mother was holding her infant son on the couch while her husband was in the kitchen when the tree fell. Unfortunately, the boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. Both of the parents appear to be in good health.

Two other infants have passed away amidst the chaos. One infant was killed, along with his mother, when the storm first reached the East Coast on Friday. A 1-year-old boy’s body was also found after authorities were searching for him in Florence’s rushing waters.

Please keep this family in your prayers, as well as all of those impacted by Hurricane Florence. In other trending news, Franklin Graham punched a huge hole in Nike’s controversial Kaepernick ad.
