On the evening of Monday July 10th, a plane crash occurred north of Jackson, Mississippi, killing 16 service members. The aircraft had taken off from the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina and was traveling over Mississippi. At that time, the plane went missing from radar.

An investigation is currently ongoing to determine exactly what caused the plane crash. Initially, Military officials have declined to release the identities of the 16 killed service members. They are waiting to notify the families of the individuals before releasing that information to the public.

After the tragedy occurred, President Donald Trump posted a statement on Twitter. He called the crash ‘heartbreaking’ and announced him and the First Lady are sending their ‘deepest condolences.’ His son, Donald Trump Jr., retweeted the post.

Melania Trump also personally responded to the tragedy. She stated, “My deepest sympathy to all of the military families who lost their loved ones in the Mississippi plane crash. Thoughts & prayers for all.”

Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara, who is married to his son Eric, also shared her thoughts. She retweeted a post from the U.S. Navy to express her condolences.

Please join us in prayer for the families of these heroes that were lost. They will be remembered for serving our country and missed dearly.
