Olivia Jade, the daughter of actress Lori Loughlin, has been through a very traumatic time after it was revealed that she wasn't actually accepted into USC like other students.
Olivia's parents reportedly paid a huge amount of money for her and her sister to be listed as college athlete recruits so that they would be able to get into the school. When the entire college admission scandal broke recently, Olivia made headlines around the world.
"The couple are accused of agreeing to pay $500,000 in bribes to have daughters Olivia Jade, 19, and Isabella, 20, admitted to the University of Southern California as recruits for the college's crew team, despite neither participating in the sport," Fox News reported.
Part of the reason that the media focused on Olivia more than the other students busted in the scandal was in part due to her famous parents and her thriving social media influence business. Olivia is an ultra-successful YouTuber.
Now, her fellow YouTube friend is speaking out. David Dobrik says that Olivia is strong and will be alright in the end, but right now this is a tough storm she's weathering.
“[Olivia is] a strong girl and she’s a smart girl, so she’ll be good,” Dobrik, 22, told Us Weekly at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday. “We’re definitely all checking in with her.”
Olivia's lifestyle has been on display for years thanks to her YouTube videos. Since the scandal broke, a lot of her old videos are being picked through and critiqued. She even mentions college in some of her old videos. Now, she is reportedly furious with her parents for dragging her into this mess.
"She has been passionate about her career and wanted to work and was doing well but that wasn't enough," an insider previously revealed. "Her parents said she would have to juggle college and her career. Now she's devastated because everything she built imploded before her eyes. She feels they ruined everything."
Since news of the scandal broke, Oliva has been dropped from her endorsements with Sephora, TRESemmé, Princess Polly and Estée Lauder. It may be difficult for her to ever put this scandal behind her.
