On Tuesday, August 7, the happy news broke that British pop star Ellie Goulding is engaged. The 31-year-old singer is set to marry her boyfriend, Caspar Jopling.
The couple had a delightfully traditional way of announcing their engagement. Instead of taking to Instagram to share the joyful news, they printed it in the marriage section of U.K.'s The Times newspaper.
The announcement in Tuesday's paper read: “The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Herefordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands."
Goulding used her full name, Elena, in the announcement. She and Jopling, a friend of Princess Eugenie and an art dealer, have been dating for 18 months.
The source also said they chose to announce it in the paper because they wanted friends and family to know first. By using Ellie's full name, people wouldn't immediately notice that it was singer Ellie Goulding.
The couple both have royal connections. Goulding performed at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding, and the couple vacationed in Jordan with Princess Beatrice in April. That means there will likely be some royal guests on the invite list.
Congratulations to the happy couple! May God bless their upcoming marriage.
In other news, a family in Iowa needs your prayers. It's been three weeks since their daughter disappeared without a trace. Please pray that they find her safe and alive.
