For most NFL players, the headlines they make usually have to deal with their performance on the field. However, for one star in particular, he is making headlines for what he just did off the field!
Christian McCaffrey, the running back for the Carolina Panthers, was just credited with helping to save the life of a 72-year-old man! His heroics came while he was hiking in Colorado.
According to reports, McCaffrey, two of his brothers and two friends were hiking in Castle Rock, Colorado on Saturday and saw Dan Smoker Sr. fall from a rock while hiking with his grandson. McCaffrey was the one to call 911 and his friend, Michael Mann, performed chest compressions on Smoker.
First responders took 11 minutes to respond. During that time, Smoker's 13-year-old grandson remained calm and helped in any way he could.
“Eli was such a trooper, man,” McCaffrey said. “I was traumatized, and I had no relation. I had never seen anything quite like that in my life as far as the trauma and the sound."
Please join us in praying for the entire Smoker family. We wish a complete recovery upon Dan. Also, join us in congratulating all those who helped to save his life!
