A famous Major League Baseball star is calling it quits with his wife. Ben Zobrist, of the Chicago Cubs, has filed for divorce from his wife.
According to court documents in Tennessee, Zobrist is alleging that his wife “has been guilty of inappropriate marital conduct.” He has also taken a leave of absence from the Cubs.
The news comes as a shock to fans. Zobrist was the 2016 World Series MVP when the Chicago Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 of the series. At the time, his wife celebrated the tremendous moment by joining him on the field.
"Julianna Zobrist is a professional singer. She has sung the national anthem at several Cubs games in the past and performed “God Bless America” before a 2016 World Series game at Wrigley Field, according to the Sun-Times," according to Fox.
The Cubs organization said it is unclear when Zobrist is expected to return to work with the team. Further details about the split have not yet been released at this time. Please join us in praying for the couple as they go through what is sure to be one of the darkest seasons of their lives.
