Famous ‘Frozen’ Actress Plays the Heroine, Saving Imperiled from Irma

As Hurricane Irma approaches Florida, preparations are being made to brace for the storm. Boarded windows, emergency supplies and sandbags are turning neighborhoods into eerie war zones. Many have already left home by booking flights or fleeing up I-95.

Some, however, haven’t had the chance to flee. Kristen Bell and her co-star Josh Gad, and his family, have found themselves essentially landlocked and at the same time, figuratively marooned. Irma is expected to hit them Sunday morning.

So when Gad and his family found themselves stranded, Bell got them a hotel room further inland at her hotel in Orlando. This heroic act of kindness had a remarkable effect on Gad, who expressed his appreciation for Bell through Instagram.

“So [Kristen] literally saved my parents and my entire family tonight from #hurricaneirma. When they were stranded in Florida, she got them a hotel at her hotel in Orlando and saved them, my brothers, my sister-in-law and niece and nephew.

“They don’t make them like this girl,” Gad wrote. “Thank you, Kristin. You are truly an angel sent from above.”

Bell is most known for her role as the voice of Anna in the Disney movie Frozen. Josh Gad played her co-star as the voice of Olaf. Among the movie’s 77 wins and 57 nominations, are two Oscars.

Bell was in Florida to film her new comedy movie Like Father, and has been staying at the Walt Disney World resort, which has shut down for the next few days because of the storm.

Reports from Cuba suggest that the hurricane has destroyed the island. And at least 24 people are known to have died in the Caribbean as a result of Irma.
