Famous Band Announces Lead Singer Has Died at Age 62

A famous band just announced they have lost their lead singer. The music group, "The Smithereens" recently opened up about the death of Pat DiNizio.

Pat died at the age of 62 on Tuesday. At this time, no cause of death has been released after his death.

"Today we mourn the loss of our friend, brother and bandmate Pat DiNizio," said DiNizio's fellow Smithereens Jim Babjak, Dennis Diken, and Mike Mesaros, in a Facebook post.



The group is known best for their hit songs "A Girl Like You" and "Behind The Wall Of Sleep" to "Only a Memory" and "Blood and Roses." The group has been around for decades and released their first album in 1986.


"Pat had the magic touch," DiNizio's bandmates said. "He channeled the essence of joy and heartbreak into hook-laden three-minute pop songs, infused with a lifelong passion for rock & roll."
