Actress Gabrielle Union and her NBA player husband Dwyane Wade announced on Thursday that they'd welcomed their first child together via a surrogate, reported E! News.
In a post to announce the healthy baby girl, Union-Wade, who is best known for her role in "Bring It On," called her a "miracle." She made the announcement by sharing a set of photos of her and Wade holding the newborn in the hospital.
"We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days," wrote Union. "Welcome to the party sweet girl!"
This is Gabrielle's first child and Dwyane's fourth. Their little girl joins half-brothers Zaire, Zavier, and Zion.
The couple, who tied the knot four years ago, had struggled to conceive. Union struggled to conceive for many years, and she revealed that she'd had eight miscarriages in recent years.
"For so many women, and not just women in the spotlight, people feel very entitled to know, 'Do you want kids?'" she once told People. "A lot of people, especially people that have fertility issues, just say 'no' because that's a lot easier than being honest about whatever is actually going on. People mean so well, but they have no idea the harm or frustration it can cause."
Congratulations to the new family! In other news, please join us in praying for the family of Tamera Mowry. The devastating news just came out that her niece was one of those killed in the California shooting on Wednesday night.
