Susan Sarandon Under Fire For What She Said About Hillary Clinton

November 26, 2017Nov 26, 2017

Fox News reports that actress Susan Sarandon has recently been attacked by many liberals for refusing to support Hillary Clinton.

Apparently, despite campaigning for Clinton in 2001 and supporting Sanders in 2016, she did not shift her support back to Clinton after her preferred candidate lost the nomination. After not shifting her support to Hillary, she received widespread backlash from those on the left.

According to Fox News, the actress claims that she received numerous death threats and hateful emails. Many of the claims were misogynistic, and many critics told the actress that they wished physical harm against her. In a recent interview with the Guardian, the actress expressed that she was shocked to hear such disrespectful language coming from fellow liberals, who she thought were more tolerant and above such grotesque and violent gestures.

"Since the election, Sarandon’s career has been marred by all things politics," writes Fox News. "She couldn’t even appear on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' without the host asking her to defend her political position. However, she stands by her decision to, as a New Yorker, vote for third party candidate Jill Stein over Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump."

Even more troubling to her followers was the star's claim that Hillary would have been a more dangerous candidate than Donald Trump. According to The Guardian, Susan Sarandon claims that Clinton's foreign policy was one of the most dangerous aspects of her. Sarandon was a sharp critic of the Vietnam and Iraq wars. And as a result, she thought Hillary's foreign policy, which the star believed was more hawkish than that of Trump, was especially troublesome.

“I did think she was very, very dangerous. We would still be fracking, we would be at war [if she was president]. It wouldn’t be much smoother. Look what happened under Obama that we didn’t notice," she said, according to The Guardian.
