Famous Actor Tries To Meet Conservatives in the Middle, Angry Mob Bullies Him into Submission

Hollywood actor Mark Duplass committed a cardinal sin on Thursday when he spoke kind words about Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro. In a since deleted tweet, Duplass encouraged liberals to have an open mind and engage with people of differing political views. It was an incredible moment of honesty from within Hollywood.

"Fellow liberals: if you are interested at all in 'crossing the aisle' you should consider following @benshapiro. I don't agree with him on much but he's a genuine person who once helped me for no other reason than to be nice. He doesn't bend the truth. His intentions are good."

Immediately after Duplass posted his plea for civility, the leftist mobs on twitter shamed and bullied the actor into submission where Duplass caved under the scrutiny and quickly deleted his tweet.

Mark Duplass is most well known for his acting in the hit Amazon Prime show 'Goliath', the wildly successful 'Mindy Project' TV show and 'Manhunt: Unabomber.'

After buckling under pressure from the tolerant left, Duplass walked back his earlier tweet and apologized profusely for not being more 'careful.' Duplass backtracked so far from his original tweet that he alluded to Shapiro potentially being racist, intolerant and attached to a number of 'phobias.'

"So that tweet was a disaster on many levels. I want to be clear that I in no way endorse hatred, racism, homophobia, xenophobia or any such form of intolerance. My goal has always been to spread unity, understanding and kindness. But I am going to make mistakes along the way. Sometimes I move too quickly when I get excited, or fail to do enough research, or I don't communicate myself clearly. I'm really sorry. I now understand that I need to be more diligent and careful. I'm working on that. But, I do believe deeply in bi-partisan understanding and I will continue to do my best to promote peace and decency in this world right now. That said, I hear you. And I want to say thank you to those who reached out with constructive criticism. I have genuinely learned so much and wish everyone all the best. - Mark Duplass"

Ben Shapiro quickly pointed out the absurdity of Duplass tucking his tail in the face of scrutiny.

The responses to Duplass' inner struggles of holding to his beliefs versus appeasing Hollywood power brokers came fast:

Do you think Duplass should have apologized for his tweet?
