Johnny Depp is being sued by a manager of one of his films. The employee alleges that Depp assaulted him during filming.
According to Fox News, Gregg “Rocky” Brooks filed a lawsuit against the famed actor on July 6 for “inflicting emotional distress.”
In the lawsuit, Brooks alleges that during the filming of “City of Lies” on April 13, 2017, Depp became combative toward him after he told him that a scene that featured Depp’s friends was not working.
“Johnny’s friends were in the scene, and it just turned into way more than it should have been, said a source, according to Page Six.
Depp became so volatile that Brooks sought out the protection of an LAPD officer, but couldn’t find one in time before Depp punched him in the ribs, according to TMZ.
Depp told him that he’d give Brooks $100K to punch him in the face before others pulled Depp off of him – that was after he had punched him twice in the rib cage. Rocky didn’t react to it, although he noted that Depp’s breath reeked of alcohol.
A rep for Depp had not comment, although Brad Furman, the film’s director insisted that the alleged incident was overblown: “Johnny Depp is a consummate professional, great collaborator and a supporter of other artists. He always treats the crew and people around him with the utmost respect. Movies can be stressful, and nonevents often become exaggerated. We all love stories – there isn’t one here.”
In a separate incident, Depp is being sued by two former guards, and is also in a legal battle with his former managers.
