Brett and Kristy Didlenc purchased a small farm in the country for $18,000, and made it their dream home.
Their “farm-ette” is now a modern-day beauty with a pond and a nice garden. The family also cares for chickens and rabbits.
The Dolencs are growing but they realized that they needed more space to accommodate their three teenagers.

The family decided to purchase a tiny house instead of expanding their home called Kicsi casa and to use it to expand their home on the farm.
Tiny houses are becoming more popular in the United States due to their lower cost of ownership and maintenance.
Because they leave a smaller footprint, they are popular with environmentally-conscious homeowners. Many states are building tiny houses to aid the homeless.

Many tiny houses are also built by the homeowners, following popular shows such as “Tiny House Hunters” or “Tiny House Nation.”
Tiny homes are also available for purchase. You can also find information on styles, house plans and other tips via the internet.
The Dolencs decided that an additional tiny house on their small farm would be the best option.
Simblissity Tiny Homes was then commissioned to design their tiny home. The tiny house cost $67,000.

Brett and Kristy had the idea of building the tiny home to give their children privacy, but also keep them close to their small farm.
In the future, however, the tiny home could be used as a guest room, an office or a mobile home for children.
In the meantime, as the tiny house was intended to accommodate their three teenage daughters, the Dolencs asked Lucie, Marin, and their daughters to design the home and personalize it according to their individual tastes.

The entire project took six months and the tiny home is now a welcome addition on their small farm. It connects to the main house for easy access and has more than exceeded the family’s expectations.
Kristy, Brett, and Kristy are proud of their daughters who designed their rooms to highlight their individual traits.
The tiny house is located on a small farm and has a composting toilet, good-sized sink, and vanity. Storage space was a major problem in tiny homes. The closets were built using the space below the stairs.

Lucie chose a loft bed. Though it doesn’t give her plenty of room to sit up, she decided on this design because it felt cozy. She also loves the design of her storage area, which can be used for study purposes.
Marin, Marin’s younger brother, preferred a ground-level space. This allows her to enjoy views of the goats and the expanse of the family’s small farm.

The kids can relax and read in the loft above her bedroom.
There are two sofa cushions that can be made into beds. The sofa cushions can be used by friends to sleepover when they visit.
Because of the tiny home’s comforting features, Brett laughingly shared that the children have threatened that they would never leave their small farm.
It’s easy to understand though why the children think of the small farm as their forever home. Kristy said, “Raising children out here, you’ll know that they have chores and animals. We made the decision together. This is our way of life. We share responsibilities, help each other, and do things together.”

The Dolenc family offered their small farm to neighbors during the pandemic. Friends and neighbors could stay on the farm-ette, mingle with the farm animals, and enjoy what they called “COVID relief goat therapy.”
The small farm with its lush trees and pond was a great escape from stress.
With a beautiful new addition to the small farm the homestead will be a more enjoyable and relaxing destination for the Dolencs family and friends.
