A woman in Utah is being accused of fatally killing her ex-husband's new girlfriend in front of her own children. The shocking incident occurred after the divorced woman tricked her husband into leaving his apartment, before she snuck into the home and killed the girlfriend, according to police.

"Chelsea Watrous Cook, 32, was charged with aggravated murder, burglary and violence in the presence of a child in the murder of Lisa Vilate Williams. Williams was killed in a Salt Lake City apartment on Nov. 25," reported Fox News.

Cook is a high school health teacher the area. She had allegedly tricked her ex-husband to leave his apartment by telling him she was dropping off cold medicine for their 3-year-old twins.

"When Travis Cook walked to the parking lot, Chelsea snuck into the home and refused to leave. When her ex-husband returned inside, she locked herself in the bathroom while he called 911. Then, less than a minute later, she suddenly walked out, grabbed a gun from her coat and fired the fatal shots," reported Fox.

Lisa was allegedly gunned down next to the Christmas tree she was decorating with Cook's young daughters. They witnessed the entire tragedy.

"Cook’s ex-husband told the children to run to their rooms and lock the doors. In the meantime, he pinned his ex-wife to the wall and waited for police to arrive. Williams died later that night at a hospital," according to reports.

Lisa's family has since spoken out about the murder. They revealed that Cook had been harassing their daughter for months, both online and over the phone in the months leading up to the murder.
