A recent story made headlines concerning a billionaire who spoke at a college graduation ceremony. While concluding this remarks, he announced he was going to pay off the student loans for everyone who was graduating. Estimates came in that he would most likely be dishing out around $40 million.

The story quickly went viral online. Now, another story is sweeping the internet in connection to the viral graduation speech. A young man has come forward saying dropped out of the school two-years ago due to his increasing student loan debt.

"Jordan Long began attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga., at 2015, but by 2017 he said he was drowning in more than $60,000 in student loans and was worried about the money he would have to shell out to remain at the college for two more years," reported Fox.

Jordan said he was afraid he was going to accumulate more debt than he could handle. He dropped out of school and has been working to pay back his loans. When he found out that his former class was having their loans paid off, Jordan was understandably devastated.

“I left Morehouse class of 2019 to avoid debt and this billionaire just paid the graduating class’s debt off. Kill me,” Long tweeted Sunday.

Jordan is now hoping he can ride the waves of the news and is asking for help in paying off his own loans. He started a GoFundMe campaign online. He says he hopes to become a community organizer and is currently taking time off to save up for tuition.

“Billionaires giving charity is not a solution to a systematic problem and we have to be politically and socially active to fix this problem — we can’t let it continue,” he told the magazine on Wednesday.
