Let’s do the time warp again! LokiAfter Marvel fans were left on the edge their seats following the 2021 cliffhanger cliffhanger, the series will return to Disney+ for a second season.
Loki was the final installment of the sci-fi series.Tom Hiddleston) in an alternate timeline after he and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) faced He Who Remains A.K.A. Kang (Jonathan Majors). The all-knowing being offered Loki and Sylvie the ultimate game changer — to take over the Time Variance Agency (TVA) and oversee all the timelines together. They’re both variants of the trickster god, so the multiverse wants to keep them apart. Loki, who fell for Sylvie, was willing if the TVA could be run together.
After spending her entire life on the run from TVA, Sylvie is determined kill Kang. She gave Loki an intense kiss and pushed Kang through a portal, setting free the multiverse. Loki woke up at TVA and discovered that Morbius (Owen WilsonHe didn’t know who he was, so a statue of Kang was installed in his honor. Loki was clearly in the wrong timeline. But will he ever be able to get his life back?
In the credits of the finale, Disney+ informed viewers that Loki would return for a new season, and Di Martino would be back. MTV Movie Award and TV Award winner Sylvie said that Sylvie will have to deal complex feelings after losing Loki, killing Kang.
“That final moment is just utter devastation,” she told Marvel.com in July 2021. “She thought she was going to get the relief that she’s been waiting for her whole life. She’s built this up so much. She finally kills the guy right at the top — and feels nothing. As she has always felt, she still feels angry, bitter and sad. But nothing, just emptiness and that’s really sad.”
However, Di Martino said there’s no better way to kick off Sylvie’s second season arc, adding: “What she does with [that sadness]Yet to be seen. It’s an interesting place to start another chapter.”
Although most of the cast members are expected to return, there is one thing that is not certain: director Kate HerronThey will not be there for the new episodes. “I’m really happy to watch it as a fan next season,” Herron told Deadline. “I just think I’m proud of what we did here I’ve given it my all.”
Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who directed episodes of Marvel’s Moon KnightIn spring 2022, the season will be helmed by the current season.
