UPDATE AT 7:14 P.M. EASTERN — The Mayor of Nice, France wrote on Twitter that he is getting official reports that over 70 people have been killed.
In a video far too gruesome to post on social media, dead bodies and horrifically injured victims are seen strewn across well over 100 feet of roadway in Nice, France after a semi-truck plowed through a Bastille Day crowd.
According to Fox News, the city's prefect of police estimates that 60 people are dead and 100 injured in what a police spokeswoman said could not have been an accident.
"It's an attack," said Sylvie Toffin.
No one has yet claimed responsibility. Numerous media outlets have suggested terrorism as a possibility, especially after 130 people were killed during an ISIS attack in Paris last year.
Photos from the scene show the semi-truck's windshield riddled with bullet holes.
A witness said after driving into the crowd, the driver stepped out of the truck and started shooting people.
"There was carnage on the road. Bodies everywhere," Wassim Bouhlel described.
Please pray for the victims, the families of the slain, and the first responders in France!
