The young son of NFL legend Erik Williams has reportedly been arrested in connection to a tragic, double murder case. Williams, 49, is best-known for his 9-year success with the Dallas Cowboys, but he also played for the Baltimore Ravens during his time as a professional football player.

Williams’ son, Cassius Shakembe Williams, and one another male suspect were charged with two counts of capital murder. According to TMZ, two unidentified men — believed to be drug dealers — were shot and killed by Cassius and the other suspect in an incident in Mesquite, TX on June 12th.

Cassius is only 20 years old. The other suspect’s identity was not immediately released. The victims’ identities were also not released to the public.

Authorities believe that the shooting took place in a drug deal gone wrong. Shots were reportedly fired after the drug dealers refused to give marijuana to Cassius and his friend.

The two allegedly face the death penalty if convicted, according to a sports reporter from CBS News.

Sadly, it appears that Cassius had a bright future in store at one point in his life. The young man previously played college football as a defensive tackle at Central State University, reported TMZ.

Williams has not responded to the news about his son as of Tuesday afternoon.

No other details regarding this incident were immediately provided. Updates will be added to this story as they become available.
