In 1997, she won the YoungStar Award for Best Performance of a Young Actress in Comedy Film. Embeth Davidtz portrayed Miss Honey, while Pam Ferris played Miss Trunchbull. Rhea PerlmanDeVito and Mrs. Wormwood rounded out the cast.
The most popular musical of MatildaLater, the movie made its debut in 2011. It was adapted by Dennis Kelly. The music and lyrics were written by Tim Minchin. Stage direction was provided by Matthew Warchus. The Netflix movie will feature all three of them.

Netflix announced in 2021, that the new film would be released December 2022. The streaming service has teamed up with Sony to include the West End musical of Matilda, which was based on Roald Dahl’s classic novel from 1988.
