Former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been the center of multiple nationwide headlines since he started the “Take a Knee” movement in support of Black Lives Matter, an organization that began fighting racial injustice after several cases indicated blacks were wrongly killed by white police officers. Dozens of other professional football players followed Kaepernick’s controversial stance after President Trump insisted any player who kneels for the national anthem should be fired.
Conservatives agree that kneeling during the anthem is a complete disrespect to our flag, military, and heroes in blue. However, liberals feel it is their right to free speech.
In addition to the dozens of players who began kneeling, several well-known names in the entertainment industry have also swooped to Kaepernick’s support. Among those include award-winning rapper Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III.
The artist has been a well-known Trump critic since the presidential campaigns began for the 2016 election, bringing more political issues into his music.
On Friday, December 8th, his new song, “Untouchable” was released, according to TMZ. The track comes from his upcoming album, “Revival,” which is set to be officially released on December 15th.
The entire song focuses on racism, making the claim that blacks are treated unfairly solely because of the color of their skin, but whites are “untouchable.” He references to “Black Lives Matter” multiple times.
One verse even praises Kaepernick for the start of his controversial movement.
He said, "They call it a Kaepernick tantrum if you don't stand for the national anthem. They gonna say you're trying to take an irrational stance if you try to slander the flag...but somebody has to be the sacrificial lamb."
The song will not be played on Faith Family America due to the excessive amount of foul language. Thank you for your understanding.
This isn’t the first time that Eminem incorporated his political views into one of his tracks. In October, he released a freestyle rap called “Campaign Speech,” where he bashed President Trump and claimed it was “for Colin [Kaepernick].” Earlier this year, he also slammed the President in a song called, “No Favors” with Big Sean.
