Elizabeth Smart has some joyous news to celebrate.
Smart, who was the victim of a terrifying kidnapping in 2002, has welcomed her third child with her husband Matthew Gilmour.
The victims’ rights advocate and kidnapping survivor announced the arrival of her daughter on Instagram Monday. She shared a photo of her and her husband with the newborn.
“So happy to welcome Olivia to our family! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” wrote Smart, 31.
Olivia joins big brother James, 19 months, and big sister Chloe, 3½.
Smart announced that they were expecting their third child in June with an ultrasound photo.
“Pretty HUGE news!! We’re expecting baby #3 in November!!” Smart captioned her picture.
She and Gilmour wed in 2012 in a private ceremony in Hawaii. The family of five reside in Park City, Utah.
In September, Smart revealed that to PEOPLE she's “grateful for the small things” 16 years after she was kidnapped from her bedroom late one summer’s night. Smart was brutalized by her captors for nine months before being rescued.
Even with all that, she says she feels like “the luckiest woman in the world” for the way her life is now. However, she says she worries for her own children—especially her daughter.
“There’s a part of me that’s always thinking, ‘Are the windows shut? Where is she at? Who is by her? Can I see her?’ I don’t want to let Chloe out of my sight,” Smart explained. “I will never regret being there for my children, watching them, making sure they’ll be okay. But I might regret not being there for them.”
Congratulations to Elizabeth and her family on this newest addition. May God bless their growing family!
