An AMBER ALERT was issued for two young boys over the weekend. Leonardo Ortega, 8, and Matias Carrillo, 2, from El Paso, Texas were abducted from their home around 5:00 AM on Saturday morning, June 29th.

According to the El Paso Times, Leonardo and Matias are stepbrothers. They were taken by 26-year-old Justin Carrillo who is the biological father of Matias and the stepfather of Leonardo.

Fortunately, Leonardo and Matias were found safe on Sunday. A tweet from the El Paso Police Department confirmed that they were in Jaurez, Mexico. No arrests were immediately made. The investigation is ongoing.

Prior to finding the children, local authorities were very concerned about their whereabouts and had reason to believe that they were in “grave or immediate danger.” Carrillo is allegedly suicidal and has his concealed carry license for a handgun.

The car associated with the AMBER ALERT was a 2003 black Hyundai Elantra with Texas license plates KYR4562. The vehicle is pictured below.

As of 10:00 AM ET on Sunday morning, an update has not been released on the suspect. This story is developing and will be updated as more information becomes available to the public.

Please pray for the safe return of these two young boys. In other trending news, the lead singer of a Grammy-nominated music group, Jim Pike, sadly passed away recently.
