President Trump Cancels Super Bowl Champs’ White House Visit, Here's What He's Doing Instead

Christians cheered following the historic win by the Super Bowl 52 Champions — the Philadelphia Eagles. Several players of their team praised God after receiving their championship title and their team members are often seen in prayer ahead of games.

As tradition stands, President Donald Trump initially extended an invitation for the Eagles to visit the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl win. According to reports, only a select group of players confirmed their attendance to meet the President of the United States.

Following the reports, President Trump made an unexpected announcement about the Eagle’s potential White House visit. Given that only a few players were going to attend, Trump decided to cancel the event.

“The Philadelphia Eagles Football Team was invited to the White House. Unfortunately, only a small number of players decided to come, and we canceled the event,” President Trump announced on Monday. “Staying in the Locker Room for the playing of our National Anthem is as disrespectful to our country as kneeling. Sorry!”

On Tuesday morning, Trump also revealed that the White House will be hosting a separate event in its place at 3:00 PM ET on June 5th to honor military families. To the contrary of the major controversy still circulating in the NFL, the national anthem will be proudly played at the special event.
