For an evening reception at the British Embassy, Meghan Markle changed into yet another stylish dress.
This is her third ensemble of the day. She wore an incredibly stylish black tea length gown for the celebration of 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force. Then she made a quick change into a stunning emerald gown for her landing in Ireland with husband Prince Harry.
Later, Meghan changed once again into a beautiful square-necked black gown designed by New Zealand-born, London-based designer Emilia Wickstead. The gown is perfect for the summer weather and pulled together by a belt.
There's been some controversy surrounding the designer. After Meghan and Harry's May wedding, reports claimed that she said Meghan's Givenchy gown looked like it had been taken from one of her designs.
After the reports surfaced, Wickstead denied the claims. She expressed her sorrow over the controversy.
“I am extremely saddened by commentary that has appeared in the press and online over the past few days. Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex looked absolutely beautiful on her wedding day and I have the utmost admiration and respect for her.”
She continued, “I do not think that her wedding dress was a copy of any of our designs. I have the greatest respect for Clare Waight Keller and the House of Givenchy — a huge source of inspiration to me. I wish Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a wonderful, happy and love filled life together."
Meghan appears to have held no ill-will against Wickstead. She looks perfectly happy to be wearing the designer's dress.
During his speech at the embassy, Prince Harry spoke warmly about Ireland. He said that being in Ireland has made it easy to understand why it holds a special place in the hearts of all those who visit it, especially his family.
He added, "We’re so pleased to be here, for our first official international visit together as a married couple, and we hope it will be the first of many."
