Pippa Middleton grabbed the attention of the world on Duchess Kate and Prince William's wedding On April 29, 2011. Kate's younger sister, who was 28 at the time, served as her sister's maid-of-honor when she tied the knot.
At the time, Pippa was clearly overjoyed for her sister. Not only was Kate marrying the future King of England, but she was also marrying her college sweetheart and love of her life.
Now, Kate has reason to be exciting for her little sister. Pippa and her husband James Matthews are parents to a little boy.
Pippa Middleton, Kate's younger sister, gave birth Monday afternoon to her first baby. Her representation confirmed that she gave birth to a boy. This is the first first-cousin for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and baby Prince Louis of Cambridge.
"He was born Monday (October 15th) at 1:58 p.m., weighing 8 (pounds) and 9 (ounces)," said the rep. "Everyone is delighted and Mother and baby are doing well."
Kate and William couldn't be happier. Kensington Palace released a statement for them after the news, saying they're "thrilled."
The statement read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James.”
Pippa, 35, had her baby at St. Mary's Hospital in London in the Lindo Wing. This is the same place where the royal children are born. Her husband was at her side.
Days before giving birth, Pippa and her husband attended Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank's wedding. A heavily pregnant Pippa still looked lovely in a dark green dress at Windsor Castle.
News of the birth comes only a day after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the exciting news that they're expecting their first child. It's certainly a joyous time to be part of the royal family.
Congratulations to the couple! This is such happy news for the whole family. Duchess Kate will certainly be the best aunt that this little boy could ask for!
