Drakeo the Ruler Was Restless

Late rapper Drakeo the RulerOfficially, he has been laid to rest.

Earlier this week, loved ones, fans, family members and friends of Drakeo the Ruler, born Darrell Caldwell, packed into the Greater Emmanuel Temple Church in Lynwood, California to give their final goodbyes to the ‘Talk To Me’ rapper. According to reports, the funeral was an all-casket service. The platinum coffin, which reportedly cost $36,000, was surrounded by life-size images of the West Coast rap star and an enormous blue-tipped roses floral arrangement that spelled out the late rapper’s name.

Drakeo the Ruler’sDarrylene Corniel, Darrylene’s mother, spoke highly about her son during the funeral. She said,

“It really hit me last night. Reality is starting to set in. This is my baby. My son had class, and I wanted him to go out with class.”

His younger brother, rapper Ralfy The Plug, added,

“He was my role model. He made sure I understood the best of everything. He encouraged me to begin rapping. He was getting so much money and made it look so easy.”

After the funeral service DrakeoHe was laid to repose at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills.

As reported previously, Drakeo was unfortunately killed last December while backstage at the ‘Once Upon a Time in L.A.’ music festival. According to reports he was attacked and fatally knifed in the neck. He was 28 years old at the time of his death. Drakeo’sThe murder case investigation is ongoing.

Earlier this month, the mother of the late rapper’s 5-year old son filed a $60 million wrongful death lawsuit against Live Nation on his behalf. The lawsuit claims that Live Nation was,

“completely knowledgeable of the potential dangers posed to both their guests and the performers they hired based on numerous past incidents of violence and death at their hip hop events.”
