Dr. Dobson Answers: Is Trump Really A Christian?

A lot of speculation has been made about the sincerity of Donald Trump's faith in Jesus. He has been criticized for his statement on not asking God for forgiveness, as well as his apparent lack of Bible knowledge. He rarely refers to a personal relationship with Jesus and instead talks about "religion" and good deeds.

But Dr. James Dobson, trusted figure from "Focus On The Family," says that Trump is indeed a Christian, if but a "baby" one. At the recent meeting with Christian leaders and Trump, Dobson said, "There are a lot of people ministering to him personally — a lot of ministers… He did accept a relationship with Christ. I know the person who led him to Christ, and that's fairly recent. I don't know when it was, but it has not been long."

Dobson continued: "I believe he really made a commitment, but he's a baby Christian. We all need to be praying for him, especially if there is a possibility of him being our next chief executive officer."

Dobson acknowledges that Trump isn't going to be wowing Christian voters with his extensive knowledge of the Bible, reports the Christian Post. Trump "doesn't know our language," Dobson shared. "We had 40 Christians together with him; he used the word 'Hell' four or five times. He doesn't know our language. He really doesn't. He refers a lot to religion and not much to belief and faith in Christ."

But Dobson urged Christians to "cut him some slack," as "he didn't grow up like we did. I think there's hope for him."

What do you think of the sincerity of Trump's faith? Do you think God could use him as our next President? Let us hear your thoughts and prayers in the Comments! Thank you!
