On Tuesday, Hollywood actor Peter Fonda came under major fire for attacking President Trump’s 12-year-old son Barron. The full statement will not be shared on Faith Family America due to profanity.
“We should rip Barron Trump from his mother's arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if mother will stand up against [Trump] she is married to,” Fonda wrote in a Tweet.
His controversial remark comes amidst the massive controversy happening at the border. Democrats and Republicans have failed to reach an agreement regarding immigration reform, which has resulted in children being separated from their parents when crossing the border illegally.
President Trump has continuously emphasized the need for Democrats’ involvement in immigration reform in order to prevent the separation of families, but little progress has been made. For more information regarding this controversy, read about the one detail the mainstream media is refusing to talk about.
Regardless of political views, the public has made it clear that children should be off limits. In the past, comedians — including Kathy Griffin and others — also faced backlash for targeting Barron.
Donald Trump Jr., President Trump’s firstborn son and Barron’s older brother, fired back at Fonda on Wednesday. In his statement, Don Jr. insisted Fonda was a “bully” and a “coward” for targeting a 12-year-old boy.
“You’re clearly a sick individual...but rather than attack an 11-year-old like a bully and a coward why don’t you pick on someone a bit bigger,” he stated in defense of his little brother.
After Don Jr.’s Tweet went viral, Fonda’s original Tweet was "unavailable." It is unclear if Fonda removed the Tweet himself or if it was banned by Twitter.
