The Holy Land is arguably the most biblical and faith-filled location on earth today. Millions of tourists visit the area every year — and this year, one of those tourists happened to be Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
"This is a part of the world which gets a lot of attention internationally, and this is a chance for me to look beyond the headlines and learn more about the history and culture of this land," the NFL player said of his visit to Israel.
"I have been blessed to visit many countries around the world, but the chance to visit the Holy Land, see the sites and meet the people of this special place, truly is a special blessing and an amazing opportunity,” he added.
The star quarterback spent several days touring historical sites, according to WYFF. His international trip consisted of many notable experiences including getting baptized in the Jordan River. Powerful photos from his baptism showed his hands together in prayer as Heaven rejoiced for his act of faith and obedience.
"To be baptized in the waters of the Jordan River, sail on the Sea of the Galilee," Watson stated. "I am truly in awe of this wonderful land and the wonderful people who live here."

Other NFL stars who have been baptized recently include Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., also known as “OBJ.” Hunt and OBJ both signed with the Browns for this upcoming season; Hunt came from the Kansas City Chiefs and OBJ spent four years with the New York Giants before being traded to Ohio’s team.
