According to reports, Del Monte vegetables are infected with parasites. Over 200 people, in four different states, have fallen victim to the illness known as cyclosporiasis.
"The parasite that causes this intestinal illness was found in 6 oz., 12 oz. and 28 oz. vegetable trays containing fresh broccoli, cauliflower, celery sticks, carrots and dill dip sold to select retailers in the above-mentioned states, as well as in Illinois and Indiana," reported the Huffington Post.
If you want to check your veggies, there is a trick to see if you have infected ones. The veggie packs have a “best if enjoyed by” date of June 17, 2018, or earlier, according to a June 15 release by the Food and Drug Administration.
Symptoms of the sickness include diarrhea and frequent bowel movements. Even if you feel like you're getting better, go tell your doctor. They can run a specific test for cyclosporiasis. Sometimes patients report feeling better but then getting sick days again days later.
