The Couple’s Sweet V-Day Posts
Both Beckhams shared sweet throwback shots in honor of Valentines’ Day. “1998 in NYC! And still my Valentine 24 years later,” Victoria captioned a shot of her and David clad in 90s fashion. “taken on the day we found out I was pregnant with @brooklynbeckham! I love you @davidbeckham”
David’s post was for both the women in his life: Victoria and daughter Harper. Happy valentines to my girls,” he wrote. “2 beautiful & strong women . BTW Harper remember daddy will always be your valentine love you @victoriabeckham” He shared another early pic of the couple, then some current selfies of himself with Harper and Victoria.
Their 25-Year Relationship
The couple have been together for nearly 25 years. They met for the first time in 1997, when Victoria was a top Spice Girl and David was just starting to make a name for himself as a sports star. They crossed paths in the Manchester United players’ lounge, the team David had been playing for since 1992.
The couple announced their engagement just one year later, January 1998. They welcomed Brooklyn on March 4, 1999 and tied the knot four months later. The lavish ceremony took places at Luttrellstown Castle, near Dublin, Ireland. Victoria was reportedly on the throne and Victoria wore an elaborate tiara.
Romeo, their second son, was born in 2002. Cruz followed in 2005. David’s team had forced the family to live in Spain, so they moved to Los Angeles in 2007. David signed a deal to represent the LA Galaxy. Victoria launched her now-famous fashion line around the same period.
In 2011, their youngest, a daughter named Harper, was born about a week after the Beckhams’ 12th wedding anniversary. The Beckhams officially retired from soccer in 2013 and the family returned to the UK.
Victoria and David have been celebrating anniversaries together ever since. David posted a slideshow featuring photos of Victoria over the years in coordinating outfits last year as an anniversary post. “22 years later, still matching outfits,” he captioned the photos. “Happy anniversary love u so much and thank you for giving me our amazing kids so we can all wear the same.”
