Dark Connection Unveiled Between Bill Clinton and Harvey Weinstein

Why did it take Hillary Clinton 5 days to speak out against Harvey Weinstein? As most of America has been made well aware, the hugely powerful film executive has taken a steep fall from grace in the last couple of weeks as numerous allegations have come out accusing Weinstein of sexual assault and harassment.

After 5 days and considerable media scrutiny as to her silence, Clinton finally made the statement, "I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein. The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior."

It is well-known that Weinstein was a contributor to Clinton's recent campaign (donating around $40,000), but what is just being uncovered is that he also helped finance her husband's legal fees when he too was facing sexual assault charges in the Monica Lewinsky scandal, shares Fox News

"A recently uncovered 1998 story in The Washington Post lists the powerful producer – now accused of sexual harassment and assault by numerous women – among several Hollywood heavyweights who gave the maximum $10,000 to Clinton’s legal defense fund," says Fox.

While trying to navigate through the media scrutiny of the Clinton's relationship with Weinstein through switching the focus to Trump, Clinton made a misstep in bringing attention to her and her husband's silencing of his assailants. “This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated anywhere, whether it's in entertainment, politics,” Clinton said. “After all, we have someone admitting to being a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office.”

But the BBC's Andrew Marr brought up that she had negated accusations made by victims of her own husband. “That has all been litigated,” Clinton replied. “That was subject of a huge investigation in the late '90s and there were conclusions drawn. That was clearly in the past.”

What's also in the past is the huge sum of money Weinstein donated to the financially suspect Clinton Foundation. While the DNC is donating all of Weinstein's former contributions to women's causes, the Clinton Foundation is refusing to do the same, presumably because the money has already been spent.

The foundation will not be returning or reallocating as much as $250,000 dollars from Weinstein, a move hinted at by a tweet from the foundation's spokesman Craig Minassian: “Suggesting @ClintonFdn return funds from our 330,000+ donors ignores the fact that donations have been used to help people across the world."

No wonder it took Clinton so long to criticize the man who helped her and her husband get out of the same mess he now finds himself in.
