Danny MastersonHe was first accused in 2017 of sexual assault and made national headlines. After being charged with rape of three women in June 2020, he has pleaded not guilty.
Four women claimed March 2017 that they were the That ‘70s ShowIn the early 2000s, an alum raped them. A fifth woman came forward in December 2017, claiming that while she was dating the actor, he “repeatedly raped” her.
Three of the five victims were Scientologists. Masterson was a member of Scientology since he was a young boy. The other two accusers are Chrissie Carnell BixlerAnd Bobette RialesPreviously, he dated the star.
The Men at WorkThe alum has maintained innocence since the allegations were first made, telling Us Weekly in a statement in December 2017, “From day one, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me. Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit.”
Masterson continued: “I have never been charged with a crime, let alone convicted of one. In this country, you can be presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in the current climate, it seems as if you are presumed guilty the moment you are accused.”
Masterson was sued by four of the sexual assault accusers against him in civil court as his criminal case was still being investigated by Los Angeles Police Department.

“Make no mistake, the Church of Scientology is under attack,” a source exclusively told UseIt was at the time. “It’s a new era. Victims are realizing they do have recourse, and they don’t have to be afraid anymore.”
Masterson was later charged with three counts each of rape in his criminal case less than a year later. He wasn’t charged with five counts because two of the women’s cases had insufficient evidence and statutes of limitations.

The actor, who was taken into custody in June 2020 and released immediately, is now set to go on trial in his criminal case in august 2022.
