The stark contrast in coverage between Meghan Markle’s and Middleton’s royal family reveals deep hypocrisy. Middleton can do nothing wrong, while Markle can do nothing right. This double standard isn’t limited to tabloids.
The Telegraph is one of Britain’s leading newspapers. The paper ran an article by Middleton, which was co-authored with First Lady Jill Biden. It promoted childhood education. critical op-ed of its own. Joanna Rossiter wrote, Middleton “is in danger of falling into the same trap as the Sussexes; she has risked aligning herself too closely with a sitting political party.” She said it was impossible to imagine Middleton doing the same with Melania Trump, so the promotion “is a tacit endorsement of the Bidens.”

Critics were quick in pointing out that the TelegraphEven in this op ed, it trashed Markle, Prince Harry every time, with no retractions. It felt like the paper had gone too far by targeting the wrong royal. So it changed course. Middleton was too busy announcing the center for early childhood advocacy to make any comments.
Symbiotic Relationship
Prince Harry spoke with Oprah Winfrey about the relationship between the royal family, the media and Prince Harry. “If you as a family member are willing to wine, dine, and give full access to these reporters, then you will get better press,” he said, going so far as to say “the institution survives” because of this.
A Missouri representative attacked Markle for writing a letter advocating paid parental leave. His statement was all over the internet. Daily MailYet, Telegraph piece attacking Middleton for being partisan couldn’t stay? Something is fishy. We’ll probably never know what really caused this retraction, but palace interference doesn’t sound too nonsensical.
