On Tuesday the cousin of singer Rihanna was shot and killed in Barbados. He was just 21 years old.
Rihanna paid tribute to her cousin Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne on an Instagram post. In the post she also called for an end to gun violence.
“RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms!” she wrote.
“Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!” she continued.
At the end of her post, she called for an end to gun violence. The post has received hundreds of thousands of comments of support and condolences.
According to Sky News, Alleyne was walking near his home in Lakes Close, Eden Lodge, St. Michael around 7 p.m. when a man approached him and shot him multiple times before leaving the scene. Alleyne died later at the hospital.
Police have begun an investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
