Just hours after playing what would be her final concert, country singer Abby Nicole has died. The up and coming singer was only 25 years old.
She had just finished playing a concert at the Thayer County Fairgrounds in Nebraska. According to reports, shortly after finishing her concert she went for a ride in a UTV.
“The Thayer County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 4:20 a.m. that a 25-year-old female was injured near the race track while riding inside a UTV,” reported local news outlets.
Abby was transported to a local hospital but died shortly after. Local authorities are now investigating the incident. No word has yet been released about the cause of the wreck.
Abby was the lead singer for the country band Abby Nicole and County Road. The band had just returned from recording their latest music in Nashville and was expected to move to the country music city in the coming months.
“Just to immerse myself in that love of music and be around and write every day is kind of where I want to be,” Abby told News Channel Nebraska in March regarding the move to Nashville. “That’s what everyone says, you just have got to dive on in, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
