The world of country music has mourned over some terrible things in recent years. Sadly, one of the most devastating events was when Joey and Rory announced that Joey had cervical cancer.
Joey went on to fight a courageous battle. She let her positive spirit and faith in God help her through what can only be described as unimaginably hard times. Now, since Joey's passing, Rory is speaking out.
"'I feel just as married and just as in love,' Rory said in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, admitting that returning to the stage without his duet partner was 'surreal and strange, a little wrong in some ways,'" reported the Daily Mail.
The couple has three daughters. Two were from a prior relationship but a little girl with Down's Syndrome was from their marriage. Joey was a wonderful mother to all three of the young women.
Rory also detailed how one of his daughters has since come out as being attracted to a female friend.
"I said, Just tell me, Hopie," Feek recalled. "And she went on to tell me that her friend Wendy was more than her friend, that Wendy and [she] had been dating for almost a year. And that she was in love," he said.
However, Rory is a strong Christian. He turned toward God to help him through the situation.
"The only thing I try to keep in mind is it's her life, it's her choice, it's her faith," he explained. "And my job is to love her even when it's hard or even when I don't agree," he said.
