It has been reported that Marilyn Manson was performing at a New York City concert when things went tragically wrong. Two giant gun props came crashing down onto him, sending the performer to a nearby hospital, according to TMZ.
Manson, 48, was reportedly about an hour into his show at Hammerstein Ballroom, performing one of his more popular pieces "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" when the stage prop quickly fell onto him.
Reports claim that it took several minutes for emergency workers to get Manson out from underneath the props. When he was finally removed from underneath them, he was put onto a stretcher and taken to the hospital. The Guardian reports that the musician laid on stage for as long as 15 minutes before finally being put onto the stretcher.
No words have been released yet about the physical condition of Manson. The rest of his show was canceled.
Here's a view of the incident. It begins toward the end of the video. Please be aware of the crowd yelling profanities.
One young woman who attended the concert remarked that "It happened in the middle of his song Sweet Dreams. He performed it and all of a sudden he climbed onto the two guns ... At end of the song, he bent over holding one of the poles [on the prop] and tipped over. Then it all went silent and you could hear a pin drop. Everyone rushed to him and there were rumors he was dead. Then they brought out a stretcher and he was taken away."
The attendee continued, “On my Twitter feed today people are saying he has only broken his leg or fractured his ankle, but there’s no official news yet. It’s crazy actually – when he fell they closed the curtain on the stage and dimmed the lights. They then escorted everyone out.”
He added: “It was really surreal to watch him play live. It was great but it was sad for it to end like that, was not really part of the plan.”

The artist, whose real name is Brian Warner, is famous for his 1990s hits. He is extremely controversial and generally disliked by Christian audiences. His stage named derived from actor Marilyn Monroe and cult leader Charles Manson.
Previous stage stunts have included the disgusting act of ripping pages out of a Bible. He also caused controversy after the teenage gunmen in the Columbine shooting was reported to be a fan of Manson's music.
