Conor McGregor is one of the most well-known athletes on the planet. The professional fighter has made millions by building his own personal brand while knocking out opponents left and right inside the UFC's octagon.
However, Conor's rise to fame has also been met with some troubling incidents. He faced legal trouble recently after throwing an item through the window of a bus and for assaulting other individuals.
Conor's latest troubles came after he grabbed a fan's phone and smashed it on the ground. The fan sued the fighter and a legal battle quickly ensued. Now, Conor is getting some good news.
"Conor McGregor has had his charges dropped relating to the snatching of a fan's mobile phone. The UFC superstar was accused of smashing and stealing Ahmed Abdirzak's phone outside a Miami Beach hotel. He was arrested on March 11 with police stating alleged victim Abdirzak was taking a picture of McGregor outside a hotel when he slapped the man's phone out of his hand," reported the Mirror.
Conor was originally charged with two counts of robbery plus criminal mischief. He pleaded not guilty to both charges even though video evidence was provided.
The charges were dropped by the owner of the phone after a settlement was reached out of court. At this time, the amount of the settlement has not be revealed to the public.
"McGregor could have been slapped with a maximum penalty of five years in prison for the third-degree felony offense, while the maximum jail time for criminal mischief is one year," reported the Mirror.
