Jerrod Carmichael, comedian on HBO, came out as gay in his HBO special.
“After that was out in the open, I was left alone feeling like a liar, because I had a secret. One I kept from my father and mother, my family members, my friends, and myself. Professionally, personally. And the secret is that I’m gay,” he says, according to Variety.
“I’m accepting the love. I really appreciate the love,” he said after people clapped. “My ego wants to rebel against it.”
Saturday Night Live was the only show he will be appearing on. He said he would not talk about the slap between Chris Rock & Will Smith.
“I’m not going to talk about it,” Carmichael said. “I want to be clear up top: I’ve talked about it enough, kept talking about it, kept thinking about it. I don’t want to talk about it, and you can’t Make me talk about it.”
He continued, “It feels like I’ve been talking about it for so long. Doesn’t it feel like it happened years ago? Like, doesn’t it feel like it happened when we were all in high school?”
