Comedian, ‘Aladdin’ Voice Actor Dies at 67

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness,” his family said in a statement via TwitterTuesday, April 12. “In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor.”

New Yorker, Iago, was well-known for his controversial jokes about current affairs and for being the voice of beloved cartoon characters such as Iago. Gottfried was also a prominent part of the 2015 documentary The AristocratsThis video is about a long-standing joke that has been in the comedy world since the days of vaudeville.

His wife is his survivor. Dara Kravitz, with their two children, Lily, 14 years old, and Max, 12, 12.
