There have been numerous stories reported online recently that have dealt with innocent people falling to their deaths. Two people have already died this year while visiting the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

Now, a sad story is coming in from Oregon. An Oregon State student slipped from a rock ledge and fell 100 feet to her death. Her body reportedly hit a tree down the slope and was caught on the branches. Below the tree was the iconic Oregon coast.

"Michelle Casey, 22, was taking pictures with her boyfriend at Neahkahnie Mountain when police say she stepped over a retaining wall and slipped, falling to her death. The Tillamook County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call at around 10:16 a.m. reporting someone had slipped and fallen at one of the viewing areas along Highway 101," reported Fox News.

Casey was said to be unconscious but still breathing by the time rescuers reached her body on the tree. It took crews nearly an hour to free her from the situation due to the steepness of the terrain.

She was eventually airlifted to a local hospital. Sadly, she died that evening due to injuries she sustained in the fall. Thanks to her willingness to donate her organs, Casey has already helped save the lives of other people.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. Please join us in praying for them and asking the Lord's peace to comfort them during this time. We also pray that this devastating story raises situational awareness for anyone who may be tempted to cross a protective barrier in order to capture a photo.
