This week, the Fameolous Daily reported that Aretha Franklin is in declining health. The report does not cite any credible source or have any confirmations from anyone who knows Aretha, so at this point, it is assumed to be a rumor.

They said, “Aretha Franklin not doing good and may pass soon.” The site even said that several celebrities had visited the hospital in order to say goodbye. Her alleged health issues, they said, stem from her “battling cancer for a while now.”

Since the loose report was released, other news sources have reached out to Aretha’s team for comments to either confirm or debunk the speculations. According to Hollywood Life, no one has responded.

This past February, the famous singer announced that she would be retiring from touring after this year. She said that she would still plan on recording music, however.

The 75-year-old has had a wildly successful career that has covered almost six full decades. In 2010, rumors emerged that the singer was battling pancreatic cancer. Those rumors were never confirmed nor denied.

Before her announcement of retirement, Aretha said, “I feel very, very enriched and satisfied with respect to where my career came from and where it is now. I’ll be pretty much satisfied. But I’m not going to go anywhere and just sit down and do nothing. That wouldn’t be good either.”

Whether the rumors are true or false, many fans have been in a panic since the article was released. Fans have taken to social media to express their fear that Aretha Franklin could be very ill. They are also expressing that these rumors need to be confirmed or denied as soon as possible.

Whether Aretha is truly sick or not, we are praying for her health! We will continue to update as information is revealed about the source of these rumors. Let us know your thoughts on Facebook.
