Comedian and actress Chelsea Handler has been one of the top Trump critics since Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. The former talk-show host recently traded in her spot on her own show for politics, and so far, she has received a great amount of backlash for her “uneducated” comments on political issues.
In recent days, Handler shared her thoughts on the tax bill, which was passed shortly before 2:00 AM with a 51-49 vote on December 2nd, according to CBS News. Trump was ecstatic, reiterating that the Senate bill has a strong focus on tax cuts.
Handler was, of course, critical of the newly-passed bill. However, instead of focusing on her political disagreements, she also included an attack on people of faith by mocking the Bible.
She stated, “What Republicans did last night to the poor and middle class in this country to reward huge corporations and the very wealthy is sickening. So, for all the religious beliefs you hold, rewarding the people who fund your campaigns must be somewhere in the Bible.”
Christians responded to Handler’s attack on believers, claiming that her remark was completely irrelevant to the bill. Others insisted that she had no place to comment on this matter to begin with because she “doesn’t understand” the details of the tax bill.
Handler’s attack on the bill and people's faith came around the same time she blasted President Trump and the entire Republican party in relation to the Roy Moore controversy.
