Christian Pizza Shop Owner Responds To Gay Couple Who Tried To Trick Him Into Catering Wedding

Memories Pizza shop owner Kevin O'Connor got a firestorm of criticism from liberals earlier this year after he stated that he would have no problem serving pizza to gay couples but would not cater gay weddings because of his Christian beliefs. According to the Washington Times, a high school coach even threatened to burn his shop down (she was suspended for her comments).

But now, according to The Blaze, a couple is claiming in a snarky video posted online that they tricked Memories Pizza into catering their gay wedding. They said they ordered the pizzas without stating their purpose for their reception.

O'Connor's response to the mockery? "Silly."

"I just kind of laughed at it, I guess," O'Connor recalled, noting that there's no connection between picking up pizzas and having your wedding catered. "It was a silly thing that they did. I wasn't overly excited about it. If they get from that that we catered a wedding, I don’t know how to deal with that kind of mindset. I don’t know if it was to try and make us stupid or make themselves look stupid. Because the reaction I’ve gotten is people just calling them idiots, basically.”

He also noted how ridiculous it was for someone to drive two-and-a-half hours to pick up pizza for their reception.

“But if they got a kick out of it, that’s OK. It doesn’t hurt me.”
