It has been several months since 33-year-old Chris Watts was placed behind bars in the Weld County, Colorado area. The unfaithful husband and soon-to-be father of three tragically murdered his pregnant wife Shanann, 34, and their two precious daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3 last year.

Before the murders took place, Watts had an affair which Shanann found out about. She reportedly threatened to take the kids away from him, which is likely the motive for his unforgivable outburst.

After eventually confessing to the crimes and pleading guilty to the charges, Watts was sentenced to life in prison. The judge on his case even referred to it as “the most inhumane and vicious crime” he had ever handled during his career.

In a new interview that was conducted from the prison, Watts detailed the gruesome murder. As previously reported, the dad allegedly killed his wife first. His oldest daughter sadly walked in on him wrapping her mom’s body in a sheet, in which he told her that her mother was “sick.”

Then, he took his two girls on a 45-minute drive to his worksite to dump the body. Watts revealed that he then smothered his youngest daughter with her favorite blanket — a tragic sight for her older sister to witness. Little Bella pleaded for her father not to do “what he did to Cece” to do her, but he did.

Despite these horrific events, Watts claims that he “found God” in prison, reported NBC News. During the interview, he said he asked God for forgiveness and is regretful of murdering his family.

"I never knew I could have a relationship with God like I do now," Watts stated. "It's like the amazing grace with all of this, but I just wish nobody had to pay any kind of price for this...I know there is a purpose for everybody, I just hope I can find mine."

His comments led to a mass public outrage. Much of the public was not pleased with his “hypocritical” remarks.

Please continue to pray for those mourning Shanann, Bella, and Celeste. In breaking news, a plane crash tragically claimed the lives of 12 people.
