Chris Rock joked that Will Smith had slapped him at Oscars and that he finally got his hearing restored.
“I’m okay, I have a whole series and I won’t talk about it until I get paid. It’s good. Rock said, “I got back my hearing,” at a Deadline show.
After the slap, the performer addressed the slap at an additional show:
“How was your weekend? I don’t have a bunch of sh*t about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend. I’m still processing what happened. So, at some point I’ll talk about that sh*t. And it will be serious and funny.”
Will Smith was expelled from the Academy for a period of ten years.
“The 94th Oscars were intended to celebrate the many individuals in our community that did amazing work this past year. However, those moments were overshadowed and ruined by the unacceptable behavior Mr. Smith displayed on stage,” reads the letter.

“Today, Will Smith’s actions at Oscars were discussed by the Board of Governors. They also accepted his resignation.” The letter continued. “The Board has determined that Mr. Smith will not be allowed to attend any Academy events and programs for a period not exceeding 10 years, starting on April 8, 2022.
