Chip and Joanna Gaines from “Fixer Upper” are often praised for their parenting and leading a wonderful family lifestyle ahead of their television shows and other business avenues. However, one fan apparently doesn’t agree and called out Chip and Joanna in an op-ed article.
In the opinion piece, Daryl Austin — a fan of “Fixer Upper” — accused the Gaines couple of spending too much time working instead of being with their four (soon to be five) children.
“I see Chip and Joanna differently, because they don’t want to be seen simply as a couple that can do it all. They want to be seen as a couple that can do it all while at the same time making their family their top priority,” Austin suggested. “This is just not possible, and it does a disservice to the parents who really are putting their children first.”
“You cannot do all they’ve done (or even a fraction of it) and still have any real time left over for family,” he added. “Frankly, I wonder where they even find the time to brush their teeth, let alone spend quality, one-on-one time with each child daily.”
Chip responded to Austin’s remarks on Saturday morning. Chip’s simple answer on how he and Jo make it all work: God!
“I don’t know Daryl, & he clearly doesn't know me. But for the record: If there is ever a need with my family (1st), I'll shut this circus down so fast it will make your head spin,” Chip said proudly.
He continued by giving God all of the glory for his and Jo’s successful careers and blessed family, “BUT Jo & I believe, with God anything is possible. Including having an amazing family AND career you love.”
