Pregnancy is usually a joyous announcement, but there are people who aren't excited that Chip and Joanna Gaines are expecting baby no.5. In fact, US Magazine relates, there are people who are downright angry over the pregnancy.
The happy couple, who announced the pregnancy on Instagram on Wednesday, probably never expected backlash. US says Facebook was flooded with nasty comments.
“I like them ok but enough with the kids already. Their own children begged them not to have any more children on a previous episode already+overpopulation= 😶,” wrote one troll.
Added another: “Thank you for contributing to the over population of the planet. I hope this one will be your last and you will use wiser judgement.”
The Gaines have been bombarded with rumors about their marriage for years. When they announced they'd no longer be filming new episodes of their show "Fixer Upper," people conjectured that they were going off the air to work on a struggling marriage.
They made it clear that they were really pulling their show to spend more time with their (then) four children Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9 and Emmie Kay, 7. Despite the fact that they've shown their marriage to be solid, people began accusing them of having another child to save their marriage.
“The ‘We’re back together sex kid’ never fixes a marriage. Just means one more kid, the marriage is still broken, and now the kid has to do pay for broken marriage sex” one person cruelly commented.
Another communicated the same sentiment, writing “Having a baby won’t make you better.”
Chip and Joanna haven't responded to the criticism yet, and they might never address the trolls. There's probably no need because plenty of fans have come to their defense.
As one person wrote: “I don’t usually comment but WOW . . . what a way to take a special moment in someone’s life and use it for a mean spirited rant.”
People on Twitter are also coming to their defense.
Do you think Chip and Joanna should be able to have as many kids as they want?
In other news, you should check your fridge for this leafy green contaminated with e. Coli. It's already caused one death.
